Our Story
In 1936, Georg Racher founded his first stationery store at the
Pelikanstrasse in Zurich.
This was followed by further locations in Geneva, Corseaux and
Rottenschwil. In 1954, Georg Racher’s daughter started the
Wholesale distribution of the majority of stationery stores,
Craft shops and paint shops in Switzerland. In 1956
Georg Racher opened in the five-storey "Haus zum Elsasser" in Zurich's
Altstadt (Niederdorf) its flagship! The size and variety of products was
not only for artists and students but also for industry
(Technical Drawing) is known beyond the country's borders.
Since 2007, we have been offering a wide range of painting, drawing,
Crafts and creativity also online. Thanks to this long-standing success story
which is already in the fourth generation of family hands, the
Great-grandson of Georg Racher adapted the whole thing to the digital age and thus expanded and modernized the business philosophy.
Through the still active wholesale business as well as Racher.ch with over ten thousand items in the area of painting, drawing and handicrafts. As well as Racher.officeprofi.ch with forty thousand office and stationery products, we can call ourselves one of the most well-known family companies in this field in the fourth generation.
